Acceptance of terms

By using Nest Quantum (nestquantum.com), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Use of calculators

All calculators are provided free of charge for personal, commercial, and educational use. You may:

• • Use any calculator for any project planning purpose
• • Share calculator links with clients or colleagues
• • Print or save results for personal use

You may not:

• • Scrape or systematically copy calculator content
• • Reproduce calculators on another website without permission
• • Use the site in any way that violates applicable laws

What using this site costs you

Nothing, and there is no account to make. There is no sign-up, no paywall, no email capture and no premium tier, so there is no version of a calculator that is held back from you. The site is paid for by advertising, and by one advertising network: Google AdSense. It carries no affiliate links, no sponsored placements, no lead generation and no paid reviews, which means no contractor, manufacturer or retailer has bought a position in any result.

That arrangement is the whole business model, and it is written down on the about page so you can hold the site to it.

What leaves your browser

Your inputs do not. Every calculation on this site runs in the page, in your browser, and the numbers you type are never sent to a server here. There are three exceptions worth knowing, and all three are things you choose:

• • Sharing a calculation puts your values in the address bar, so the link contains them
• • Choosing light or dark is remembered in your browser's local storage
• • Advertising and analytics scripts load from third parties, which see the request the way they do on any site

The privacy policy sets out each of those in full.

Using the results in your own work

You may use any result commercially. Quote it to a client, put it in a bid, print the takeoff sheet and staple it to a purchase order. No attribution is required and no permission is needed, because a quantity is not something this site owns.

What you may not do is republish the calculators themselves, or systematically copy the content to stand up a competing site. The formulas are standard and free to anyone; the writing, the provenance records and the code are not.

Accuracy and warranties

Nest Quantum is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We make no representations about the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any calculator result. See our Disclaimer for full details.

Intellectual property

All content, design, and code on Nest Quantum are the property of Nest Quantum unless otherwise noted. Standard formulas and industry data are not subject to copyright.

Changes to terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Questions about these terms, or a figure that looks wrong, both go to [email protected], and a reply comes within two working days. A correction that changes an answer is published on the corrections page with the old value beside the new one.
